Not just you… I saw the news on CNN but it never made any of my social media feeds. But then I take a seriously aggressive stance in blocking people who agree with her politics. I love her music and respected her as an entertainer, but that is all.
The people I heard it from are die-hard entertainment people - not “junkies”, but critics and writers - who also didn’t agree with her politics, but recognized that the woman was a true force in the world of singers/songwriters. If there’s anyone on my friends list who’s a Trumper, they keep it very well-hidden from me.
@ChickieD - there wouldn’t be a Taylor Swift if there wasn’t a Loretta Lynn, eh?
Old age’ll do it to a person. But her career - wooooooooo!
Now, why MGM didn’t use her voice for this film I have no clue…unless they thought she’d outshine Judy. Which I can’t imagine her doing, as I’m sure she respected Judy’s talent and her status at the lead in the film.
She wrote a song about the pill and a lot of her music was really pro woman. Did she become a Trumper later in life?
She was always a Republican, but tried to dodge talking about it.
Apparently she’d always been conservative. I have no problem with that; I was somewhat conservative myself until I discovered that European-style social democracy works. But I draw a hard line at MAGA and Trumpers. That’s my personal cutoff limit.
oh Hagrid, how i love you. thank you for everything, Mr. Coltrane.
He was always entertaining. I’ve always loved Coltrane’s ability with facial expressions, how he could go from ordinary to happy, and then to comically angry.
I need to rewatch Nuns On The Run.
Apparently he was from Chattanooga!
I’m not saying I will miss him, but I just thought it should be noted.
If you haven’t seen these dancers on TikTok that do the stop motion animation dances, they are incredible.
The user is xChucklesx and they have a ton of these that are all amazing.
A legend, a hero, a poet, a freedom fighter, a voice of justice and liberation, a cultural icon, these are some of the tribute messages by Ethiopians following the death of Ali Birra, the king of Oromo music.
