Barbaryt 4HM explosive (Nitroerg, Bieruń, Poland) was mainly used in blasting works; it is a nitroglycerine-based material applied in coal deposit blasting in the presence of methane.

Very fittingly named after St. Barbara, the patron saint of armourers, artillerymen, military engineers, miners and others who work with explosives because of her legend’s association with lightning.
She is also a patron saint of mathematicians and part of the original superhero posse, the Fourteen Holy Helpers.

An old (1917-ish) fish hatchery outside of Independence, CA.

Alabama Hills

This storm blanketed the Sierra Nevadas on 1/25 and brought much-needed rain to SoCal the next day.

The snow level dropped to ~5,000 ft and it was pretty chilly in the Eastern Sierra Nevada foothills. It was soooo brrrr that I didn’t take any pictures.
