The meter is at the corner of the house. The line is routed under where the walls are going (going uphill from street level to the house).
They had to dig a hole in the street to get to the main, so apparently the location where it was marked under the sidewalk was also wrong…? Geez.
One thing i can think of is that possibly an old main used to be there and was retired previously, the 811 utility locates found that old main and they marked it thinking it was live.
A funny thing just happened to me. I was slouched down in my chair and idly, unfocused-ly looking down at my laptop keyboard, and the keyboard turned into a Magic Eye picture! It’s like looking down into a tiled swimming pool. The bottom row of keys, space bar, caps lock and shift on the left, and return and shift on the right, are like the deck of the pool. The letter and number tiles are down at the bottom of the pool, and then the F-key row is another step down into the pool.
I thought it might work if I took a photo and posted it here, but the photo doesn’t quite do it for me…When I look at this photo and relax my eyes, the letter keys seem to become vertical, or even switch to being on the ceiling instead of the bottom of the pool.
Anyone else able to do this with your actual keyboard?

I’ve had this experience when looking at (for instance) a sunset with clouds illuminated from below. If you mentally shift your perspective you can imagine you’re looking down at glowing islands in an ocean.
“Yes, I know I look exactly like that asshole… except my hands are large, and when I get them dirty, actual dirt is involved.”
While it’s all torn up, you should have them install a ha-ha. Deer and cows will be flummoxed, and you can laugh at the people who fall in.

Before we pulled off the highway, we saw it coming around the bend and took a pic when we were stopped at the light coming off the highway… IRL, it was quite big and bold. I wish the image had come out better.
