An unintended juxtaposition?

I observed that (although of the regrettable variety) years ago on a BBC TV program on fossils. Talking heads, all experts, would pop up, their names appearing at the bottom of the screen then fading away to be replaced by the experts’ role. One of the experts looked to be about 80 years old or so. Below appeared her name, then this—Head of Fossils—which stayed up way too long, in my opinion.

I hope so, but I think it’s just as fun to think of it as cleverly intentional.

A head of fossils? I think my country’s preznit has one of those…

My phone was stolen in Garibaldi Station (in a classic pickpocket scenario) so I lost all my photos. Starting out fresh today with my new Italian phone…

Oh no, that’s really frustrating :frowning: did you at least have your old pictures and stuff backed up?

Oh yeah, I only lost photos & videos from this trip. Everything else was backed up. Modern tech makes replacing a phone pretty easy. I was even able to transfer my U.S. phone number onto Ms. Shiv’s phone, so I can still get 2FA texts if necessary, with a minor hassle.

I had some great pics of murals and street art that I’ll miss, though.

Edit: it was here, a line of 5 buildings near the Barra station on the Circumvesuviana line

Sad to hear some stuff was lost but all in all at least its not as bad as it could’ve been.

Here is the other one. All of the faces, except in the rightmost mural, have double red stripes across each cheek. I don’t know the significance.

I did a reverse image search and found this explanation

That explains it! The rightmost mural is not Jorit’s, that’s why it lacks the stripes.

It was a serendipitous find, because we were on the wrong line and we hopped out at this small commuter station (Barra) to wait for a return. We would never have learned of these murals on our own. Mistakes create opportunities, sometimes.

Someone’s front yard in Minneapolis.
I could be wrong, but IIRC this had appeared on the first day of May.

The sulfur blower

Don’t ask for an explanation because I don’t have one.

Edit: That looks like a grapevine next to her. Pest / fungus control?

I dunno but I thought this tank looked really pretty because of the clouds reflecting in it. My phone is usually pretty frustrating to use but the stars aligned and the resulting picture mostly looks how it did to me in the moment.
