Claremont’s great. I used to work at a little gourmet joint across from the late, lamented Rhino Records. Two of my friends attended a couple of the zillion Claremont Colleges.
I’m cool with that i don’t mind a vine doing its thing, and i can always prune it if needed.
Went to the San Antonio River Walk today and then to the Botanical Gardens trail of lights. Just a few photos. I have soooo many. Some more are in the holidays thread. There are these huge old Bald Cypresses along the river. The on in the picture is over 250 years old and some guy hid in it’s branches a really long time ago to assassinate some other guy

that one in the middle is a vanda orchid. they are lovely, but notoriously finicky plants. they don’t need soil or medium, their very long, exposed “roots” take in water and nutrients from humid air and rain. the leaves grow bilaterally from the crown and flower spikes pop out from between.
ours is thriving, but has only bloomed twice in about 6 years:

There is a Molon Lave Winery and farm brewery near Warrenton, VA. Coincidentally, it is one of the few breweries I haven’t bothered to visit in this region. Right wing ideology, gun nuts, and brewing isn’t a good combination.
Any time you see Spartan imagery at an establishment its best to avoid it.
