Perhaps, but in that case it should still be compared to a non-solar road with the maintenance benefits powered by a nearby solar installation.
Note that I’m not saying it’s useless in all situations. I’m just not convinced that there’s a large number of situations where it would be better than the alternatives, particularly since improvements would tend to improve the alternatives just as much if not more. I suppose we’ll see.
