So who do we elect this year?

Even without Arizona, Biden has at least 273 EV. If he wins Georgia, Nevada, and Arizona, that widens to 306 EV.

PA will still likely go to an automatic recount, it’s been confirmed there will be a recount in GA, and Trump’s already said they will ask for a recount in WI. I guess it just still kind of feels like things haven’t quite landed yet. And Trump’s deranged pronouncements aren’t helping…

Mitch McConnell is a petty, petty man. Vowing to make things difficult for Joe Biden if he wins the election demonstrates how much he cares for the American people - not a damned bit at all. I simply do not understand why and how these sorts of so-called human beings can care more for power than anything else, other than them having shitty childhoods where they got no sincere approval and love.

Oh geez…this may be a replay of 1948. Posting because it shows the nature of two men who don’t care about those not in their most questionable of classes:

The crazy thing is, Taft agreed with some policies that other GOPers considered socialist. SIGH.

An election worker from the State Farm Arena in Fulton County is now in hiding after a viral video falsely accused him of throwing away what was allegedly a ballot, but in reality, an instruction sheet.

I think I actually saw this video in one of the Trump twitter thread replies. He’s got people so anxious to jump on possible evidence of wrongdoing…

The fact that MSNBC, ABC, CBS, CNBC, and NBC all cut off the president to explain how he was spouting nonsense and lies is kind of something. Not something I’d’ve expected to see in my lifetime, but here we are.

CNN and Fox News continued to carry the speech live, but CNN reporter Daniel Dale, known for his rigorous fact-checking of the president’s statements, tweeted “I’ve read or watched all of Trump’s speeches since 2016. This is the most dishonest speech he has ever given.”

“We’re interrupting this because what the president of the us is saying in large part is absolutely untrue.”

When I was a kid, they sometimes interrupted a broadcast for an emergency alert warning or something, but I don’t recall them ever interrupting to tell us that the president was flat-out lying to us.

Journal of the Corona Year

11/6

The situation is still up in the air and the current president is acting more dangerous than ever, but we should feel a little proud as a country. The United States has managed to do something by way of democracy that countries such as Turkey, India, Russia and Poland have not: We removed a tyrant from power through voting.

But there are still many problems. Although now it is safe to assume Trump has been voted out, we have learned that approximately half of the country has had first-hand experience with fascism and liked it.

It is also depressing to think how we needed the oldest, blandest white guy to be his opponent.

Four years a go I wrote that there are only two types of people who would vote for Trump: they were either delusional or assholes who want to vote for a similar asshole. This year his support came from delusionals and assholes who wanted to explicitly end democracy. This will not be forgotten soon.

When I went to bed on the 3rd, Biden was slightly ahead. This helped me sleep. By the time I woke up on the 4th their electoral vote counts were more even. I was unmotivated and depressed. For the first time I began to seriously consider moving to a different country. Not an easy change to make. But around 2:00 PM Wisconsin was decided in Biden’s favor. Then came Michigan. The day stated to look a little more optimistic.

As I walked to get groceries that evening I felt less at risk of being attacked from the shadows. A dark cloud is lifting.

But I am still thinking about moving to a different country. The theory of “American Exceptionalism” prevents the country from doing anything great.

Speaking as someone with that background: enough of us grow up to NOT be abusive or manipulative as an adult that it’s clearly not a cause-&-effect situation.

A bit more light hearted…

I would like to suggest that we get as many people as possible to write to 45, not a letter but just an envelope addressed to

Yeah, but enough of other folks DO, and they somehow end up in positions of power. Like the ex-POTUS. I wonder myself how I didn’t become an evil bitch.
