Still things crawling along in North Carolina:

Truman didn’t need pushing - he loved progress. And he loved trains!

But yeah, that’s kind of what what going on with Truman, because there were still folks around who thought FDR’s policies were too radical and/or out of date. And the term of the guy in the White House was like WWII in the sense that it lasted far too long and unlike it in the sense that the American Nazis were kept down a bit better/Naziism was less appealing back then.

Power corrupts, most certainly…but it can also bring out the best in a human being. We shall certainly see what happens next, for surely anything can and usually does!

Didi you know Trump has a website soliciting tips on voter fraud?

Yes, 'cos I watched a slightly-crappy replay of this last night. I didn’t before, but I’m not surprised.

Some good news here: Bustos isn’t seeking re-election as DCCC chair (which fucked up the house races in a stupidly massive way). Crotez Masto might get primaried by Lujan for DSCC (which fucked up the Senate races in a stupidly massive way)

It’s like the Dems don’t really want to win, they just want to pretend that everything went back to “normal” or whatever.

Schumer is a nice enough grandpa type, his family loves him, and he isn’t a dangerous idiot, but he’s not the leader we need. He’s just not up to the task of staring down Mitch McConnell.

Until January 5, 2021, it’s going to be on a lot of minds:

Oh, but one never knows what can happen till that actually becomes necessary; you’d be surprised at how many of that type you describe have wills of steel.

This raised an eyebrow:

Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) will serve another term as vice chair of the Democratic Policy and Communications Committee.

Schumer faced no opposition. Either he’s rather good at rewarding his friends and punishing those who dissent, or he’s as good as it gets. The democratic equivalent of McConnel couldn’t get elected.

Funny, as a Democrat I didn’t get a ballot for these … um, choices.

Funny how it’s always the left that has to heal what the right has lacerated.
