Hamilton Academical Football Club (the “Club”) have today (17 April) received a 15**-**point deduction and been fined £9,000 after the Club was found to have breached multiple SPFL Rules by an independent SPFL disciplinary tribunal.

The ruling is correct, but the timing is bullshit. 15 points deducted means that the Accies go from being almost certainly safe from relegation to needing to win their three remaining games and hoping Airdrie lose theirs, just to get to the relegation play-off.

I’m still hoping that Hamilton make it, Airdrie fans make Rangers ultras look progressive.

The Daily Show is one of my main sources of sportsball news. This segment about a new baseball team logo almost made me spit out my coffee!

Brought to you by gambling! Tons of cultures sleep outside.

TBH, those breaks with their takes on/jokes about gambling are sometimes the best part of the Sports War segments.

I don’t understand how anyone can take professional sports seriously when gambling on them is legal. I mean, there goes a main virtue for many, the idea that those sports aren’t corrupt, and all the players really are trying to do their best.

I get what you mean. Even moving from amateur to professional players and teams changes the outlook of everyone involved. Decisions being made based on money vs. the love of the sport or performance alone must mess with a lot of players and fans. Betting exposes players to abuse, too:

The eye-opener for me was going an afternoon of jai alai back in '95. Geez the things people were yelling at the players.

12,305 fans, about 2,000 who support Port Vale. It wa the biggest League Two attendance yesterday by about 4,000. There are a lot of teams who want Carlisle to stay up (but not at their expense) because Carlisle have one of the largest support bases in lower league football.

They may have a reprieve, if Reading aren’t sold by the end of tomorrow they will be expelled from the EFL, but even then they have to win their last two games and hope Carlisle fail.

Other results didn’t go Carlisle’s way, it could have been worse but there is no margin of error now unless Reading get kicked out.
