Apologies

I’ve been meaning to do these regularly for a while now, but life always finds a way…Plus, you know, Fortnite.

Financials

Description Cost
Hosting bbs.elsewhere.cafe $15.00
Site Snapshots $2.25
On-Site Backups $5.00
Off-Site Backups $0.44
Total $22.69

Please note that the cost of on-site backups will be increasing to $7.50 for November. I’m exploring less expensive options.

Please let me know if you have any questions, or if you’d like to see more or less detail in future installments.

No new signups, contributors, and only one flag!

We’re slacking.

Needs more cowbell flags! We’re not being dipshitty enought, I guess.

I think there were attempts to get Tamsin_Bailey, TornPaperNapkin, and one other (StephanJones?) from TOS but I don’t think they’ve showed up.

@LockeCJ, any more thoughts on ways for us to share costs?

I’m now very curious about that post that got flagged on Oct 2.

I have a feeling it was my “all y’all” remark.

It’s still low enough that I can mostly ignore it. I’d just like to reduce the on-site backup costs out of principle, given how much cheaper b2 storage is than a DO volume.
I had toyed with the idea of setting this up as a social club for tax purposes, but my limited research leads me to believe that we wouldn’t qualify easily, so the extra work doesn’t make much sense just to avoid paying taxes on what will likely be very modest income. I’m leaning towards either an LLC or a benefit corporation, but there is a significant amount of work, and a not insignificant amount of money involved in getting that done.

It wasn’t.

I haven’t sent my PMs yet, sorry, things have been hectic lately. I will try to do that today. Someone else said they’d contact TPN, I don’t know much about that.

I don’t mind giving it a shot. I’d love to see them over here, especially Tamsin. I love the snark.

UPDATE: Got a response from Tamsin. They have the link, and will take a look. Sounds positive.

Her’s what the tooltip in the dashboard says:

No. of members that logged in in the last day divided by no of members that logged in in the last month – returns a % which indicates community ‘stickiness’. Aim for >30%.

We’re doing pretty well by that metric.

My thinking was along the lines of Elsewhere Cafe Supper Club
