Strategies for Survival

That’s pretty brilliant explaining at a teen! I might steal it, but redirect it at the current program of forcing the kid to drive. He doesn’t want to, because it’s only been to stores mostly (and everyone in our house hates shopping), but that local driving can be the most frustrating and rage inducing.

Yeah the one that would have been helpful to me as a kid I think would be like keeping in mind one can be feeling multiple conflicting emotions at one time and that this is relatively normal.

I like CrankySec. I want to hire this person…

First and foremost, take stock of the situation. Review your online presence, your subscriptions, and the things you wrote over the years. Consider backing everything up and minimizing your footprint. Never in the history of mankind have we been bound by so many legal agreements, so think really hard about who you do online business with. Cancel everything you can. Delete every unnecessary account.

I got my passport back in the mail today. That is literally one month earlier than I was expecting.

And you just did regular service, not expedited?

Helping someone else survive:

I’ve started writing and sending letters and cards to friends again.
I used to write more often, but I kind of fell out of the habit during the first Trump administration and never really picked it up again. Texting and chatting filled some of the gap, but it’s not the same.
But lately I’ve been finding being a pen-pal a good survival strategy. There’s something about putting pen to paper, and knowing that little piece of paper will be hand delivered to my friend, wherever they are.

More secure too.

I ordered a bunch of fittings for around the house from House of Antique Hardware.

Some of it is forged in India. I probably would have ordered this stuff later in the summer, but buying it now I figured I would avoid any upcoming trade wars.
