I havenāt heard the video-- dog and all-- but early Christians avoided spelling the nomina sacra.
Literal decades of advertising on the radio.
My worst radio advertising experience:
āDo you want love from your bank? I found plenty in mine!ā
Decades ago. Thank god I donāt listen to the radio anymore. And it was in a different city.
Grew up in the 80s with WGN as one of the basic cable channels.
Fast forward 30 years, Iām now living in the greater Chicagoland, the TV is on in the background and Iām compelled to sing along withā¦
āFive Eight Eight Two Three Hundred. Empire.ā
Itās āEmpiiiireā.
That old car is worth moneyā¦
Hudson 3 2 7 hundred.
That is way before my time
How the hell do I know the tune that is sung to?!? I have no idea, never even visited the Chicago area.
Huh. It was still on the air in the 70s. I may have caught the very tail end of it then.
Itās amazing how long these old local ads stay on TV.
I know it with the 800 number. They do business in more than just Chicago.
That must be it.
It was everywhere. May have been different numbers, but I remember it too. I donāt even remember what they were advertising, or what the number was, but that singsongy phone number bit is permanently etched.
I decided to finally pick up StarCraft II where I left off, which was the middle of the Zerg campaign.
I completed that, and now Iām playing Protoss.
Why did they put the Protoss campaign right after the Zerg one?
With the Zerg, you can have endless hordes of Lings, set to respawn whenever they die, and they cost nothing to make and spawn in a matter of seconds.
With the Toss, everything is expensive and takes forever to build. Your units are like freaking gold.
Itās not an easy mindset change to make.
Started my Monday off by misplacing my wallet. Iāve looked all the obvious places (and used my credit card on my way home yesterday). Now time for the sleep-deprived, distracted mother places.
Once during the early days of baby #2/ toddler #1 needing attention I found mine in the silverware drawer, though the fridge was a likelier candidate for anything I couldnāt find. Like my phone.
