A couple Legislators had things to say…
“We have submitted school aid budget that we could be negotiating on, and just frankly, I’m not interested in being lectured about morality by somebody who sang about raping 13 year olds,” Pohutsky said, referring to the lyrics of Nugent’s song titled Jailbait. “It’s absurd.”
That point was echoed by Sam Inglot, Progress Michigan executive director, who issued a statement noting the controversies in Nugent’s past.
“Ted Nugent has a long, documented history of promoting racism, misogyny, violent political rhetoric and election denial. Nugent’s past also includes deeply disturbing allegations of grooming and abuse that should disqualify him from being legitimized by Michigan Republicans. His presence at today’s Natural Resources hearings is not only offensive, it’s dangerous,” Inglot said.
If we can’t go back to “normal” (which, if we’re being honest about it, wasn’t great for a lot of our fellow humans), we should push for something better, more equitable, more genuinely democratic.
I don’t want what I grew up with, I want a world in which all the people have guaranteed human rights and human dignity is respected by all. I feel naive even saying this, may be some pie in the sky shit, but it’s what I wish for.
Yeah, agreed. If these accerationists insist on tearing it all down in a the most violent way possible, it’s up to us to rebuild something better in its place.

Growing up in Detroit, I’ve been to my share of New Year’s Eve Whiplash Bashes at Cobo Arena and Joe Louis.
But once he started ranting at shows sometime in the 90s we checked out and never went back.
His whole kill kill kill hunting rights extremism never sat well with us.
Yeah I believe nothing can ever be restored, only pushed in another direction as the problems pile up. People are reactionary. What’s destroyed is gone forever and something already has taken its place for better or worse.
I’ve been deliberately ignoring the reporting, I absolutely don’t care one bit about what he has to say about anything. I thought he was Texas’s problem these days. Do you know who invited him to speak?
