If any democrat votes to approve this nomination for surgeon general, they need to resign immediately.
Any republican should do the same, but they’re already a lost cause.

Somebody wants to have the Constitution not apply to everyone.
“I find that that’s assumed by a number of my colleagues in related cases that deal with free speech in the lower courts, but I’m not clear that noncitizens have, I will call them, the full rights to free speech that a citizen has,” the Reagan-appointed judge said.
“I’m hopeful we don’t get to it in this case, but I don’t see how that will work if a noncitizen has the same rights as a citizen to speak about these matters,” the judge said, suggesting the question should be answered by the Supreme Court.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
No mention of citizen, noncitizen, etc. Only that government shall make no law etc. This is as plain as I think it could possibly be. Not that that means anything to these assholes.
ETA: OK, reading this I could see them saying “This restrains Congress, but not the President. So he can do whatever he wants!” God, I hate that I can anticipate their assholery.

It’s a little weird to be claiming to be following the law when you already blew the legally mandated due date, but also not even bothering to have a timeline for submission of the budget? “Yeah, I’m following the law - by ignoring it!” I presume his excuse is that his underlings haven’t done the required work, and that he, as mere head of the agency, shouldn’t be held accountable for that…

Congress has already by and large adbicated its duties. Trump’s actions are of course illegal and/or unconstitutional, and judges have saying as much. He just ignores them and nothing happens. Congress could impeach, but there’s not a chance in hell of this happening while there’s an R majority.

I’ve been getting it every year since the initial 2 shots. I certainly don’t want to have to get the boosters. It sucks, and I reliably feel like crap for 2-3 days afterward. I’ve also been alternating between Moderna and Pfizer (well, more accurately, I just get whatever they have at the pharmacy and it kind of works out this way). I’ve also contracted COVID twice since the start of the pandemic and that sucks even more, so I’ll continue to get vaccinated for as long as I can. (I will say that the last time I got COVID that Paxlovid was a wonderful therapeutic even with the awful “metal mouth” side effect, but it was a major pain in the ass to get a prescription for it and I’d rather have just not gotten COVID to start with.)
So, yet again, Trump and the Republicans prove that in their world “freedom” means “we will try to make it harder to get vaccinated because we don’t like it”.

suffice to say that my disregard for jeanine pirro does not apply to women. my utter contempt for that woman is singular.
