There are foreigners there, therefore it’s an invasion by a foreign country! People are protesting, therefore it’s an insurrection! Also we need them to enforce federal law.
I care so much about the troops, which is why I sent them there with no consideration for where they’d sleep, even. Yeah, they’re definitely not seen by this administration as a tool, rather than human beings. Also, we’re keeping troops in LA for months…
This is insane. Totally divorced from reality.
I mean, the violence/nonviolence debate becomes totally irrelevant when Republicans are perfectly willing to ignore reality and accuse protesters of not just violence but actual murderous insurrection, even when they’re just holding signs on street corners.
Pretty sure the local monarchs know that “No Kings” is shorthand for “No Autocrats”, and doesn’t necessarily apply to constitutional monarchies [1]. “No Autocrats” is a lot less catchy though.

Thought that was real until I saw The Onion on there. Given the wildly - wildly - inappropriate content ICE and DHS have been sharing on social media lately, some AI-generated video of Gavin Newsom being beheaded would only have been a modest escalation.
