Of course, a bigger suit just makes his tiny little hands look even more dainty.
Yeah, you can’t sanitise a chair that has been driven insane by being sat on by him and his diapers.
Burning seems a bit strong, though. I’m sure it could have been rehabilitated with some counselling and maybe eventually redeployed to a lesser official’s desk and arse.
Trump is an asshole who would be against this project even if it was coming in ahead of schedule and on budget, but that article didn’t really dive into just how seriously messed up this project has become. This line is pure sunk-cost fallacy:
The relevant question at this point isn’t how much money has already been spent. It’s how much more money it would take to complete the project moving forward. And the situation hasn’t improved since this article was written 2 years ago:
I voted for the original bond measure to fund this. But the current system being built is not even close to what we were promised, whether that’s construction schedule, cost, or travel time. At a certain point it actually does make sense to cut your losses and walk away from a project if there’s not a realistic, responsible plan to get things back onto a sustainable path.
Edit to add: in this article from a couple months ago the CEO of the High-Speed rail authority says that his current, “ambitious goal” is to connect Gilroy to Palmdale within 20 years from now. For Californians who knows where those cities are that’s just a really, really sad goal.
Currently, top earners don’t pay Social Security taxes on any income above $176,100 a year. Altman says assessing Social Security taxes on higher income, including investment income, would provide enough revenue to keep paying full Social Security benefits through the end of the century.
Easy, right?? HAA HAA! That would inconvenience rich people, who don’t need the money, but use it to keep score. FUUUUCK!!!
Kinda classist maybe? Goodwill has good clothes sometimes, for one thing. Nothing wrong with buying clothes there. And yeah, some folks can pretty much only afford to buy a lot of their clothes there.
I wondered how this was going to go. I was pleasantly surprised to find that we still get Juneteenth off here, despite both Trump and Youngkin taking aim at it.
I’ve had a few really nice goodwill suits. Most still had their tags on them(!!). A couple needed to be taken in, but that was pennies compared to buying a new one.
