There are McDonald’s on military bases. When I worked at an airport a few of us were given escort privileges on our ID cards. You could bring people straight through security. And politicians got that treatment from the gov relations staff. No waiting in line for some people.

Ok. Maybe they’re not too old, then. This first popped into my head when he served the National Championship college football team McDonald’s at the White House in his first term. I just remember thinking, there was no way all those burgers and fries were hot and fresh. Like, I can eat McDonald’s if I get it at the drive through, and immediately eat it. If more than 15 minutes go by, that food becomes inedible to me. Maybe that’s a me thing. I don’t like cold, leftover pizza either.

McDonald’s fries are notoriously inedible very quickly after being made. It seems to be becoming a thing though as people get their McDonalds delivered via one of the app services. If I had to I’d sooner get the bus to McD and eat in there. Can’t be more than Deliveroo or whoever and it might approximate edibility. I bought McD for one of the children the other day (after a long medical exam treat) and took the chip tax as I was handing it over. I liked them. But in general the smell of McD is enough to make me want to go somewhere else.
