I was looking for that at the end! :joy:
It would have fit in perfectly, and made just as much sense.

This is a neat summation of these fake Trump “trade deals”:

Both sides (implicitly) agree not to write down any deal. They understand Trump will fill the silence with outlandish claims, delivering him a political win. And our trading partners are obliged to deliver nothing, giving them the economic win.

Why is no one pointing out how explicitly unconstitutional this is? I mean, it’s right there in Article 1 that DC is under the control of Congress, not the President.

That brief should be thrown out along with its author. Tariffs aren’t charged to the country of origin, they are charged to the importer. There is no money that has been paid to the US from another country as a result of tariffs, by definition.

Trump’s first effort to quell the building backlash was to push for the unsealing of grand jury testimony in the Epstein and Maxwell cases. But even at the time, experts cautioned how limited a step this appeared to be.

A judge has now rejected that push in the Maxwell case. But what’s key here is his reasoning. It’s not that the information is too sensitive, as some wagered it might be; it’s that it simply isn’t new.

Indeed, the judge suggests there is basically one good reason to potentially release the documents: to show the public just what a smokescreen this was.

“The one colorable argument under that doctrine for unsealing in this case, in fact, is that doing so would expose as disingenuous the Government’s public explanations for moving to unseal,” he wrote.

The people who support fascism never learn, do they
people from marginalized groups are never safe, no matter how much they support the fascists
that’s even true for the most privileged groups

In that recent Jubilee debacle with Medhi Hasan, at one point, when the guy who described himself as a fascist insisted that he would never be a victim of a fascist dictatorship. He really seemed to believe that Franco ONLY killed the “bad” people he didn’t like, and not all sorts of people who stood in the way of the fascist state. It’s insane that they can’t grok that spending your time targeting groups means that eventually, that’ll be YOU

Wasn’t this the kind of situation they invented the second amendment to the constitution for?

Was there a Hitler crony who had the nickname “GrĂ¶ĂŸten BĂ€lle?”

Have we invented an even lower form of fascism?
