i have been “86’d” and i’m not dead.
a bit of a kerfuffle some years ago in a seattle bar. was asked to never return.
i’ve only ever known it to mean “thrown out”,“do not serve”,“stay away”, never as “kill, murder, assassinate”.

I first encountered the use of “86” around 1991. It was spray painted onto an underpass along I-35W in Minneapolis. It read “86 BUSH NOW.” I figured out what it meant.
Republicans should remember that to 86 is not the same as to deep 6.
