I was just notified about duties I have to pay for a component from China. It was purchased on 05 March and shipped on 28 March before tariffs went into effect. Purchase price was about $750. Part was imported by our broker and the cost with reciprocal tariffs is about $2800. There is no option to buy from a US company.
Looks about the same on desktop.

That would be an ex post facto law and is explicitly banned in Article I, Section 9 of the Constitution:
No bill of attainder or ex post facto Law shall be passed.
A bill of attainder is a law that declares a person, or group of people, guilty of some crime.
