I have no idea if kids are still exposed to School House Rock or not, but I know vance is of an age that he saw them when he was growing up:
Whoever knew that taking over the USA was as easy as saying “Oh hey, this one individual should be completely in charge of everything.” All that time, effort, and money wasted by supervillains.
Even with unlimited time and money I can’t imagine the logistics of trying to sweep that thing for bugs or sabotaged components. Even if you completely dismantled it to the component parts it would be hard to determine if there was a listening device included in an electronic module or a mechanical defect buried inside some structural component.
I’m reminded of how, back in the 1980s, the construction of a US embassy in Moscow took decades to complete due to all the listening devices that were found hidden and built into the building (which was nicknamed “the world’s largest microphone”) and the reconstruction that was required, including completely demolishing and rebuilding the top 3 floors in 1994. An airplane is a hell of a lot more complex than a building, and the physical and operational security of the president is arguably more important than the information being discussed in any embassy.
I heard someone from a past administration saying how it would have been unthinkable to leave Air Force one unattended for even a few minutes while parked in a friendly country like France. This thing has been in Qatar for years. I can’t see how this could possibly work.
I guess we need to not let him meet with anymore leaders unless they are dictators. God, what has our country become?
On the Presidential Tablet.
Trump ambushes South African president in tense Oval Office meeting
I guess Ramaphosa forgot to say thank you to Trumpy for having taken all those white South Africans off his hands.
ETA
And apparently Apple CEO Tim Cook’s personal $1M donation to Trump’s campaign wasn’t enough for the big buyoff.
Facts and Trump are mutually incompatible. You can have one or the other, but not both. I do suspect his acolytes are aware of this and act accordingly.
At least he apologized.
At one point reporters moved off topic and asked Trump about the Plane Qatar gifted him, riling him. Ramaphosa cut in, saying, “I’m sorry I don’t have a plane to give you.”
“I wish you did,” Trump said, causing Ramaphosa to laugh. “I would take it.”
ETA: WTF is up with NPR capitalizing random words now? Trump derangement syndrome is Real.
What it always was, but now the other side has the steering wheel and this with someone riding shotgun.
“Are you going to believe what I tell you, or your lying eyes?”
I’m a Seton Hall Law graduate, a school ranked about 70 spots below Yale, and I know that’s wrong. Vance absolutely knows that’s wrong, but it’s consistent with the idea of the unitary executive, which some FedSocs have been pushing for years, including Bill Barr.
We may see that, but they see the five lights they were told to see.
