I don’t love this argument though. I’m not sure it’s true. An embryo is usually considered female, but I’ve also heard people say that’s because so much of developmental science came from the perspective of looking at what made them into males. If people actually spent the same effort looking at what made them into females, they might discover there are just as many changes necessary. Really an embryo is an embryo – it is not any kind of person other than potential.
And of course it doesn’t matter for this, because while I might care about what’s true, these people don’t.

Science is very clear that sex is bimodal but not binary, and those two common types don’t cover the natural variation of humans. It’s even confirmed that trans men have brains like cis men and trans women have brains like cis women, if asking them wasn’t enough. Transphobes don’t care. Every time I hear one of those fools babble on about “basic biology” I’m reminded of the failure of A&Ws challenger to McDonald’s Quarter Pounder, a One Third Pound burger. Taste tests would show people prefer the A&W taste and they cost about the same, so who wouldn’t enjoy that bonus 1 1/3 ounce of burger, right? It failed, of course, and marketing surveys confirmed it was because many Americans cannot grasp that 1/3 is larger than 1/4.
MAGAts seem about as good with basic biology as they are with basic math.
