Krishnamoorthi just called for Hegseth’s resignation for disclosing classified information.

This is fun to watch, the republicans are praising them, the democrats are going after them.

For anyone elsewho wants to watch, ABC is preempting programming for it:

As such look for the republicans to set something else on fire to distract the media (that’s like on line three from Bannon’s ‘modernizing’ of mein kampf) -sigh-

It was for the Press Secretary’s comment, not the article itself.

It’s already happening. During these hearings, while Dem interlocutors are honing in exclusively on the disastrous Signal chat, Repubs are asking about ANYTHING but. Chinese students using drones to take sensitive photos! Chinese millionaires buying up Amurican real estate! :scream:

Ooh, do you have knowledge of Hegseth drinking when he leaked classified information?

Ratcliffe did not like that question.

Side not, I saw a couple masks being worn.

As a comedian whose name I can’t remember* observed,

“You know there’s a Native American somewhere saying, 'Hell, at least they’re paying for it.”

*the original context for this was ~35 years ago, when people were freaking out over Japanese individuals/companies buying US real estate

“This would prevent only a tiny amount of noncitizen voter registration but stop millions of eligible voters, who do not have easy access to documents such as passports, from registering to vote,” Richard Hasen, an election law expert at the University of California, Los Angeles, said in a blog post.

There are also concerns that married women who have changed their last names may face difficulties registering to vote, as their birth certificates reflect their maiden names.

The advocacy group Public Citizen pointed out that roughly 146 million Americans do not have a passport.

This also, of course, affects other groups of people that have legally changed their names, but may have difficulty in getting the name on their birth certificate changed. Coupled with the increased difficulty some of us have suddenly been saddled with in obtaining or updating our passports, a pattern may be emerging.

Or maybe I’m just being paranoid? Nah, I’m sure that’s not it at all.

Karoline Leavitt is now saying not war plans and the public can decide for themselves and all that matters is the mission was successful.

She asked do you trust Hegseth or Goldberg?

I trust my eyes.

Leavitt just pulled the Biden killed 13 service members in Afghanistan card so the democrats and the media have no business lecturing about a successful mission.

Musk is looking into how Goldberg was included.

She refused a question by Kaitlan Collins.

She’s done answering questions on the subject.

why would he…!? this is just because he’s a tech super genius?

(Signal™ does have a CEO/president, of sorts, but they go by ‘fun’ monikers (e.g. Moxie Marlinspike) …#@$!)

They’re turning this into blaming Biden. He said Biden when asked about the texts.

Hegseth is saying he sees war plans every day, just this morning he saw war plans and attack plans.

Who is he planning a war against?

Can we inquire of the Brazilian Supreme Court if they do international gigs? (our Supreme Court is perhaps better off taking a paid-for fishing trip)

Brazil’s Supreme Court announces it will try Bolsonaro for coup attempt

The former president has been accused of five crimes including attempting a coup d’etat.

Brazil’s Supreme Court has ordered former President Jair Bolsonaro to stand trial on charges of attempting a coup d’etat after failing to win the re-election in 2022.

Bolsonaro, a far-right former army captain who served as Brazil’s president from 2019 to 2022, is accused of five crimes, including an alleged attempt to violently abolish the democratic rule of law. He has denounced the accusations against him as “grave and unfounded”. …

And Waltz is claiming that Goldberg actually appeared in the group under a different name (and that he has no idea how this reporter’s contact information appeared on his phone - maybe he was hacked!), which just adds a whole new layer of dumbassery. (And all of which leaves aside the stupidity and illegality of using Signal in the first place.)

@sqlrob
Jebus Mice - is the new administration line really that “it’s all a hoax, they weren’t war plans, they were attack plans!”?

Oh, but they clearly said “for,” not “four,” so it’s actually all a hoax, and of course the answer is “five.” Or something.

They’re pretending that Goldberg somehow added himself to Waltz’s contacts, under a different name, to dishonestly shift the blame. (Which needs serious investigation! Because this is totally a legit accusation! So obviously Elno must investigate because he’s a tech genius, not because he’s an idiot who will report back whatever the administration wants him to.) This is supposed to be exculpatory for Waltz, but if such a thing really could happen, it just reinforces why using Signal on a private phone was an incompetent and illegal choice to begin with.

Well…

One of Mr. Bolsonaro’s kids left everything in Brazil, went to the US and said He will look for ways to end the dictatorship of justice (sic) in Brazil.
