Trump is going to physically crash soon. Even with all his “executive time” and taking days off for golf - he doesn’t have the stamina for this.
So - who’s running things when he refuses to come out of the bedroom?
Oh people will still choose to be passengers on airplanes.
For a while.
Once their appetite for risk goes down, some airlines may start dropping service to some cities, or only offer one flight per day.
Then a lot more people will be driving, at least in the U.S., inside The Lower 48.
So IIUC, the aviation industry and the air carriers are going to need to press the current junta to do better, after some of the proof of concept gives them the leverage needed to dissuade TPTB from wrecking several industries here all in one uh fell swoop.
And gas prices will rise due to heavier demand.
And cars and car repairs may cost more as the industries that serve those end up on shaky financial ground.
Lovely.
Without enough air traffic controllers; airports will cancel a ton of flights.
Definitely.
Sheesh, I am getting a reverse deja vu thing since I remember Reagan v. PATCO.
That’s a Republican ordering ATCs back to work.
ETA:
Can’t order them back to work if they’re not employees.
The economy will completely collapse the way he’s trying to govern. And so much pharmaceutical transport is via cargo in the bellies of passenger flights.
After I heard about the decision to fire FAA employess, I decided not to fly during the next four years. Not a good risk. After the collision, I stand by my decision.
Is every Friday going to have a Friday Massacre now?
It’s going to be driving only, for us, for that same span.
We already had started this practice during COVID… y’know, the first pandemic.
Currently trying to do all the major maintenance on our cars ASAP.
There’s a family-member’s bridal shower I am supposed to go to, in another state.
I am not even sure I’d consider taking Amtrak, at this point.
Another one.
If it’s in NE Philly, it could be a smaller craft using the Northeast Philadelphia Airport- Not Philadelphia International Airport.
Whenever I hear the term “common sense” from a political type person it’s usually preceded by, or preceding, something stupid.
FTFY.
Did they maybe stop to consider that some people may want to put their pronouns in their e-mail because they have a gender-neutral or a name that’s not usually typically coded to their gender (or any other number of reasons that could cause ambiguity/incorrect assumptions) and would prefer to not be misgendered?
But I guess anything that makes communication easier for all parties is automatically considered “virtue signalling” now.
Here’s another good one from his press secretary.
When asked about the tariff war between Canada and the United States after the prime minister of Canada said he would consider cutting off electricity to America if Donald Trump continues to impose tariffs, she referenced Jesus Christ.
“They want you to panic, but President Trump wants you to remember Jesus didn’t have electricity either and he did just fine,” Leavitt said.
Yep, that’s exactly what it is. But is it still effective in the current media landscape?
In my mind, Friday has the news stories that the administration knows they should feel ashamed by. Might be interesting to look at over time by president.
That’s a heavily populated area. It’s good that it missed the mall - but it must have hit some houses.
Sadly, I can’t find any faults in this argument.
I have no doubt the goal of all these buyouts is to replace these union jobs with a private workforce. I definitely would never fly if ATC was privatized. Safety-critical things that affect millions of people like ATC simply cannot be successful if they have a profit motive.
Oh, and has anyone mentioned the rapist announcing a tariff on pharmaceuticals?
