That’s most of what “woke” means, trying to accommodate different people. If you have a stereotypical name like Donald or Karen you don’t need this, so they hate it.
You can never quite tell if these people are so greedy that they want everything to collapse so they can loot the ruins, or so stupid they genuinely think the market will keep working without all the props that hold it up. (In this case “why not both” only works if they’ve never considered the future at all, which…well, it works on some of them.)
This is precisely why I’ve always bristled at the argument of “Trump is a businessman, and it’s time to let a businessman run the country!” There’s nothing equivalent about the two. When someone runs a business, they are in service for themselves. When someone enters public service, it’s supposed to be in service to everybody.
Did Trudeau say he would cut off the electricity? Or was it Doug Ford? Ford is Premier of Ontario, not the Prime Minister, but they probably don’t know the difference.

The US Army Corps of Engineers operators under military oversight, but most of its employees are civilians. Just like his confusion over the word “asylum” he also doesn’t understand what the Corps does (they’re mostly project managers and don’t actually do squat). He thinks they’re soldiers. Fuckhead.
ETA: Newsom should send in the CHP or CA National Guard to keep the Army Corps lackeys away from the lakes. Likely it’s not actual Corps “soldiers” doing this, but some contractor getting paid to do it by the Corps.
