If confirmed he will cause people to die @#$!!!
This it’s weird, in cases where he’s being sued he wants it all on hold so he can be president but in cases where he’s suing he has plenty of free time.
If the goal is to use it to enrich a favoured few then none of that matters.

Obviously there is some overlap of convenience (after all, the whole modern Republican party was founded on awkwardly joining together big business interests and the christo-fascist right), but there’s significant natural overlap as well. Musk and Thiel aren’t alone - they have a whole group of allies who believe as they do, and a bunch of seemingly left-leaning libertarian types in tech (e.g. Marc Andreessen) have turned out to be pretty right-wing and racist when they let their guards down. (The overlap of convenience for them was when they supported Democratic candidates - they saw Dems as being more amenable to their business interests.) And that’s just in tech - the number of billionaires devoted to racist, right-wing causes wasn’t something I was aware of before Trump, but they’ve been coming out of the woodwork to support him (and as a result getting some attention paid to their views and the causes they support that they weren’t getting before).
What struck me is not only how easily Trump is outplayed in any negotiation by anyone with a basic grasp on the existing reality, but these border measures, which already existed and Trump is taking credit for, were things that Canada and Mexico had agreed to with Biden.
Which really demonstrates a lot of things - how weak Trump is, that he needed to damage the economies of three countries to get his fake deal done (whereas Biden got real agreements through quiet diplomacy), and how Trump’s noisy bluster gets him credit for things he hasn’t done (whereas Biden’s quiet approach got him credit for almost nothing he actually did). And in the end, all Trump actually did was weaken the US - other countries won’t trust any deals made, and trade will increasingly avoid the US entirely to ensure reliable markets - but he doesn’t care, because it made him look good.
