No, it’s not entirely performative, as those are real people, with real lives, who are really being taken to a fucking concentration camp. Now, I think it’s doubtful that they can put 30,000 there, but whether it’s a dozen or 30,000 hardly matters. 
I wonder if among all these people it’s possible to smuggle in one or another “enemy of the state” who needs to disappear for a while…
