The other problem is it’s really hard to tell the fake stuff from his usual absurd nonsense.

Hamas has just released three Hostages from GAZA, including an American Citizen. They seem to be in good shape! This differs from their statement last week that they would not release any Hostages. Israel will now have to decide what they will do about the 12:00 O’CLOCK, TODAY, DEADLINE imposed on the release of ALL HOSTAGES. The United States will back the decision they make!

My first husband was, at the time I first met him, in charge of the Marine Corps’ Manpower Budget. That’s what they call their budget for labor costs. It was his job to understand that budget and find ways to trim costs. I’ve known a couple of people who worked with Federal budgets, and they both said it is a mind-blowing thing to wrap your head around the size of the numbers. Rounding errors are not pennies but millions of dollars. It’s not even close to the same as managing a budget for a company, even a large one. And his budget was only the Manpower, not the whole Marine Corp budget.
One big problem with trying to trim the fat was the “Black Projects.” These were those pork projects that no one could touch. One that was in his budget was a study of the flow rate of ketchup. How did that relate to Marine Corp Manpower? It doesn’t. He couldn’t cut it. There were a bunch like this.
As a person with Top Secret Clearance, he couldn’t even SEE most of these Black Projects to learn the smallest thing about them, much less take a red pen to anything in those projects.
There’s no way these brand-new DOGE employees with no experience in Federal Budgets have any idea of the way money gets allocated at the Federal level.
I think we need to stop thinking that there is any good faith effort by the Trump administration to do any good for the Federal government and realize that the intent is to dismantle it entirely.
Meantime, I’ve got my popcorn for the showdown between the Pentagon and the Trump Administration.

I don’t think anyone here has been under any illusion about that, from day one.
The problem is the MAGA voters and fellow-travellers who believe the govt and its spending deserves a bloody nose and are cheering Skum on from the sidelines. They also - as yet - have no idea of what is actually being done or why, and will find out soon enough and then bleat that they when they were fucking around in the voting booth (or avoiding it) this was not what they meant.
