(Obviously bearded belly dancers should be the least controversial and offensive thing about that video but it’s still interesting that they didn’t try to edit that out before posting. Or more likely they just don’t know how.)
I’m guessing someone else has suggested this, but he “one” [sic] in a landslide in those places, and among those voters, that he won in a landslide. Everywhere & everyone else are just phonies, haters, “illegals”, fake news etc. so they simply dont count. (I’ll leave it to the reader to ponder the demographics where / among whom there was no landslide.)
I’m sure he plays golf the same way - “doesn’t count, fake sand trap”
The near miss was clearly the fault of the FlexJet flight when viewed in isolation, just as proximate cause.
Nothing like this ever happens in isolation. It’s always the product of a slow degradation of a safety system that was, ideally at some point, highly redundant and the product of many harsh lessons. Those systems are superficially inefficient; in this case they have survived degradation by cost and wage cutting, and rule bending, because they are designed to work even when you get a Really Bad Day.
The decline in robustness is showing at the margins. It’s mostly more close calls for now, but more accidents will follow with brutal statistical certainty as “mildly unsafe, but caught in time” situations turn into full on collisions.
I’ve suggested to my MP, who is the Minister of Transport, that perhaps should start invalidating the individual flight-worthiness certificates for aircraft and hauling them out of service for our own inspections until the FAA is back to the level where they can do the job.
I guess to update this, all that needs to be done is some substitutions of past surnames to those of the present that are relative to the theme of the song.
