The goddamn Trump Administration

“I’ve written them a letter saying, ‘I hope you’re going to negotiate because if we have to go in militarily, it’s going to be a terrible thing,’” Trump said. He later added that he had sent the letter “yesterday” in the interview, which was filmed on Thursday.

So T—p just threatened to invade :iran:. That was not on my increasingly large bingo card today.

I couldn’t help going there myself. And if they have a Black lady as Jesus, I wanna play Judas! With all the same costumes he wore!

i grew up hearing this because my brother bought the soundtrack album. and it seems JCS the movie was only shown on Easter on network TV, and then at midnight.

Here we go again.

“Canada has been ripping us off for years on lumber and on dairy products,” Trump said in an Oval Office address Friday, citing Canada’s roughly 250% tariff on US dairy exports to the country. Trump said America would match those tariffs dollar-for-dollar.

“We may do it as early as today, or we’ll wait until Monday or Tuesday,” Trump said. “We’re going to charge the same thing. It’s not fair. It never has been fair, and they’ve treated our farmers badly.”

And now he’s threatening russia.

Based on the fact that Russia is absolutely “pounding” Ukraine on the battlefield right now, I am strongly considering large scale Banking Sanctions, Sanctions, and Tariffs on Russia until a Cease Fire and FINAL SETTLEMENT AGREEMENT ON PEACE IS REACHED. To Russia and Ukraine, get to the table right now, before it is too late. Thank you!!!

And this. I thought huh? But sure enough the UAW is praising tariffs.

The head of the United Autoworkers of America just stated that TARIFFS ARE NECESSARY to correct years of abuse of the USA by other countries and companies. We have lost 90,000 factories and plants since the beginning of NAFTA. HE IS 100% CORRECT!!!

This what the UAW said, they seem to have faith in corporations not screwing the consumer and paying their fair share. Have they not been paying attention?

“Tariffs are a powerful tool in the toolbox for undoing the injustice of anti-worker trade deals. We are glad to see an American president take aggressive action on ending the free trade disaster that has dropped like a bomb on the working class,” the UAW statement said in part. “There’s been a lot of talk of these tariffs ‘disrupting’ the economy. But if corporate America chooses to price-gouge the American consumer or attack the American worker because they don’t want to pay their fair share, corporate America bears the blame for that decision.”

But now everyone knows that he’s a pushover who’ll backdown tomorrow.

He only follows through on hurting Gazans, Ukrainians and Americans.

I’ve never heard «краснов» used as a synonym for beauty. «Красива», and the various declinations, yes.

The «крас» is likely a root for “red,” though.

I’ve only ever heard the stress on the first syllable. But I think for the orange traitor we should put it on the second, just to drive his handlers cray. :smiling_imp:

Every neighbourhood has a hero - it’s just a question of them making themselves known. This lady has, and she rocks!!

Worth watching the video to see her explain why he is a dickless rapist. It’s not just a random insult.

Jersey shore property owners express concern about Canadian tourism for summer season

Has anyone asked these property owners how they voted?
[Narrator: We know how they voted.]

“Most of the Pa. contracts terminated were for minority or women-owned businesses.”

Sometimes Russian syllableses have different stresses when words are used in different ways.

Those same property owners probably mostly voted for Trump. Wildwood is a notoriously pro-Trump part of New Jersey. They do not have my sympathies.

Trump admin cancels $400M worth of grants to Columbia University
The Trump administration has canceled $400 million worth of grants and contracts to Columbia University for “the school’s continued inaction in the face of persistent harassment of Jewish students,” according to the Justice Department, Dept. of Health and Human Services, the Department of Education and the GSA.
The administration said that on March 3 the Joint Task Force to Combat Anti-Semitism, which is comprised of DOJ, HHS, Ed and GSA components, notified Columbia’s administration that “that it would conduct a comprehensive review of the university’s federal contracts and grants in light of ongoing investigations under Title VI of the Civil Rights Act,” according to a press release from the agencies.
The university didn’t immediately comment.

sigh…

I gained a bit of sympathy for the TSA while passing through LA during the last government shutdown. After clearing each phase I thanked the TSA folks for working through the shutdown and got a genuine “you’re welcome” back every time, usually with a slight smile. This is only going to make one of the harder public service jobs worse, and make the :us: less safe for the trouble.

This is not about the goddam Trump regime, as such, but a rather a non-shallow dive (from Europe and the UK’s perspective) into how this is just the latest - and much more extreme - incarnation of a direction the US has been clearly travelling in for some 80+ years. Some eye-opening facts about US/UK diplomatic relationship history that I was not previously aware of.

(Hope the link works. The New European newspaper is subscriber only in parts and I got this link to ‘share with friends’, as a subscriber.)
