The goddamn Trump Administration

Well, there you go.

Another word he doesn’t know the meaning of, the word he was looking for is lying.

Trump was asked about the vow he repeatedly made on the campaign trail during an interview for the “Full Measure” television program as his administration is still trying to broker a solution 54 days into his second term.

“Well, I was being a little bit sarcastic when I said that,” Trump said in a clip released ahead of the episode airing Sunday. “What I really mean is I’d like to get it settled and, I’ll, I think, I think I’ll be successful.”

I read that, appropriately enough, as limitless grift.

Trump signs order to gut Voice of America, other agencies

https://www.reuters.com/business/media-telecom/trump-signs-order-gut-voice-america-other-agencies-2025-03-15/

VOA, an international media broadcaster that operates in more than 40 languages online and on radio and television, is overseen by the U.S. Agency for Global Media. The agency also funds Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty and Radio Free Asia.

In addition to the Agency for Global Media, Trump’s order also targets the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service, the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, the Institute of Museum and Library Services, the U.S. Interagency Council on Homelessness, the Community Development Financial Institutions Fund, and the Minority Business Development Agency for cuts.

And from this article about it (emphasis mine)

in the case of the US Interagency Council on Homelessness, it destroys the only federal agency solely focused on addressing the homelessness crisis.

I don’t know why, but every time I first read “interagency” as “insurgency”

I’m waiting for the Canadian ambassador and consuls to be tossed out and the embassy and consulates to be shuttered.

Ok, it’s taken me a while to digest this list of  actions against :canada:. What finally occurred to me was what changed between the first date and the second. He’s now Felon47. His inability to go there has become a huge, often-repeated joke online. Maybe this is his solution - petty and vengeful as usual.

The events started to remind me of those movies about women dealing with stalkers. The negative behavior escalates after their targets get restraining orders. The toxic reaction to being told where they cannot go, as well as being motivated to violate boundaries and force themselves into places where they aren’t wanted…it only ends well for the objects of their obsession when they’re locked up. :grimacing:

We know the regime doesn’t believe in accurate accounting, but I’m expecting the same outcome after the pols and citizens from a few red states start screaming about being hit in the wallet by boycotts on top of tariffs.

Probably the same night that she also called him out as “Putin’s puppet.” We should’ve taken that description more seriously!

Ok, now I’m having a flashback to Pelosi’s remark about listening to women.
