Oh, thank goodness, there were more white kids on his right.
Untruths really operate in so many different ways in MAGA. I mean first of all, there’s the lie/bullshit dichotomy, Trump favoring bullshit. (The lie knows that the truth exists, and this isn’t it; with bullshit the truth simply doesn’t matter at all, making it worse. Here deliberate ignorance becomes part of the dynamic.) You have untruths as loyalty tests and in-group reinforcements, and then for out-groups, you have untruths as an expression of power (as someone put it, like the bully who snatches the hat off your head, and even as they’re waving it around, insists they don’t have it). This feels similar to that, but slightly different. The untruth is being used to formally construct a new reality.
All the girls are in dresses, on both sides. That’s not accidental.
One of those white kids sure looks like a girl in a boy’s style suit. Is Trump engaging in gender affirming behavior?!?! ARREST HIM NOW!!!
I don’t think that’s true, actually.
Honestly, I think it may be better to just stop using the ‘k’ word completely. Even calling him a ‘false king’ or saying ‘fuck the king’ would please him, simply because that word is being used in connection with him.
He has no divine right. He is not anointed. He has not inherited it. He is simply a dictator tyrant.
(ETA following @chenille’s post further down, I edited the above as indicated. A much more apposite term to use.)
Here’s a great big huh?
He posted this a few minutes ago.
Today, President Donald J. Trump agreed to withdraw his March 14, 2025 Executive Order regarding the Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP law firm (“Paul, Weiss”), which has entered into the following agreement with the President:
- Paul, Weiss agrees that the bedrock principle of American Justice is that it must be fair and nonpartisan for all. Our Justice System is betrayed when it is misused to achieve political ends.
Lawyers and law firms play a vital role in ensuring that we live up to that standard as a Nation. Law firms should not favor any political party when it comes to choosing their clients. Firms also should not make decisions on whom to hire based on a person’s political affiliation. To do otherwise is to deny some Americans an equal opportunity for our services while favoring others.
Lawyers abandon the profession’s highest ideals when they engage in partisan decision-making, and betray the ethical obligation to represent those who are unpopular or disfavored in a particular environment.
Paul, Weiss affirms its unwavering commitment to these core ideals and principles, and will not deny representation to clients, including in pro bono matters and in support of non-profits, because of the personal political views of individual lawyers.
Paul, Weiss will take on a wide range of pro bono matters that represent the full spectrum of political viewpoints of our society, whether “conservative” or “liberal.”
Paul, Weiss affirms its commitment to merit-based hiring, promotion, and retention, and will not adopt, use, or pursue any DEI policies. As part of its commitment, it will engage experts, to be mutually agreed upon within 14 days, to conduct a comprehensive audit of all of its employment practices.
Paul, Weiss will dedicate the equivalent of $40 million in pro bono legal services over the course of President Trump’s term to support the Administration’s initiatives, including: assisting our Nation’s veterans, fairness in the Justice System, the President’s Task Force to Combat Antisemitism, and other mutually agreed projects.
Statement from the White House: “The President is agreeing to this action in light of a meeting with Paul, Weiss Chairman, Brad Karp, during which Mr. Karp acknowledged the wrongdoing of former Paul, Weiss partner, Mark Pomerantz, the grave dangers of Weaponization, and the vital need to restore our System of Justice.”
In response to the President’s announcement, Paul, Weiss’s Chairman Brad Karp said: “We are gratified that the President has agreed to withdraw the Executive Order concerning Paul, Weiss. We look forward to an engaged and constructive relationship with the President and his Administration.”
I doubt the last point - the orange shitgibbon is too much of a narcissist to ever nominate anyone else.
Perhaps, instead of issuing warnings that are (as Basil Fawlty would say) “statements of the bleedin’ obvious”, it might be better to organise some coherent opposition. AOC seems to be one of the few consistently making the arguments. He’s acting like a pundit, not a politician.
It’s almost like Pete Hegseth is a known, open White Supremacist, misogynist, and Christian supremacist, who only isn’t an open Nazi because we haven’t got him on camera doing a “straight armed salute”.
Yet.
In Greek there were two words for monarchs…basileus for a king the way we usually think of them, with traditional authority going back to time immemorial, and tyrannos for someone who seized power. The second one still has a pretty applicable English equivalent.
coming soon to a public school near you!!!
By the way, this is still a thing.

I guess she didn’t say “thank you.”

I hope we do not get to the book-burning phase of their operation. I mean on a national scale. We’ve kinda been there before:
Sheesh it’s a weird day when I find myself agreeing with Eisenhower. But here we are.
Heck of a job, Oarangie.
