The goddamn Trump Administration

Sure, if you don’t have a constitution anymore, you can do whatever you want…

And of course, all his stans who claim to care about said constitution are saying yes to this shit.

Trumpy would be illegible to be a vp candidate since he would have no ability to serve since he was president already for 2 terms. Of course I’m assuming anyone wants to follow the constitution still. :grimacing:

I was hypothesizing this yesterday when my husband and I drove through some communities in southern Riverside County. I was thinking that a lot of Michoacan and El Salvadoran eateries and Mexican grocery stores that we passed by are probably taking a huge hit.

Sigh.

But isn’t the operable word “elected” to the office of President?
If he is elected as Vance’s VP and Vance resigns, Trump is then “appointed” to the office of President, isn’t he?

You’re thinking too constitutionally.

According to the Constitution, Trump can be elected as President twice.

After that, he’ll be promoted. There can still be presidents, but they’ll be an office under Trump, who will be giving all the orders. In Latin, that would be the office of Imperator. Constitution doesn’t say shit about that office. And it’s his for life.

If he doesn’t take the title king or wear red boots, it’s completely above board. *nodnod*

We will not capitulate - no, never! We may be destroyed, but if we are, we shall drag a world with us - a world in flames.

Shamelessly stolen from Reddit.

(Of course, Vance not wearing a suit adds to the verisimilitude.)

Is he the anti-matter Zelensky? Zelensky is smart, funny, a person of high ethics and bravery, who engenders loyalty, is a powerful leader … need I go on?

People think Vance not wearing a suit in Greenland is inconsistency or hypocrisy or something.

It’s not.

Trumpists interpret the lack of a suit (or similar formal uniform) in an official visit as a sign of disrespect.

Zelenskyy did not wear a suit, therefore he must be showing contempt for the US.

Vance was not wearing a suit, he was definitely showing contempt for Greenland and Denmark.

Everything they do is surface. It’s all about face.

Yeah, I didn’t think they were supposed to be buying Russian oil in the first place, never mind applying tariffs

I am not sure he truly understands that’s a hard limit, but it’s got to be creeping up on him. :crossed_fingers:

More wtf, huh?

I got a call from a very good guy, and friend of mine, Kid Rock, asking me whether or not it would be possible for me to meet, in the White House, with Bill Maher, a man who has been unjustifiably critical of anything, or anyone, TRUMP. I really didn’t like the idea much, and don’t like it much now, but thought it would be interesting. The problem is, no matter how much he likes your Favorite President, ME, he will publicly proclaim what a terrible guy I am, etc., very much like the Democrats at my recent Address to the Joint Session of Congress, where I stated, correctly, that no matter what I said or did, they wouldn’t stand, they wouldn’t applaud, they wouldn’t smile or laugh and, certainly, they wouldn’t be in any way “nice.” Who knows, though, maybe I’ll be proven wrong? In any event, I’m doing a favor for a friend. I look forward to meeting with Bill Maher, Kid Rock and, I believe, even the Legendary Dana White will be present. It might be fun or, it might not, but you will be the first to know!

Kristen Welker’s entire first half hour of the Lowly Rated Meet the Fake Press this morning, was devoted to the boring Signal Witch Hunt. She doesn’t want to talk in detail about anything that matters like how well we are doing against the Houthis, substantive Peace Talks with Russia and Ukraine or, Iran, Iran, Iran. She wastes my Administration’s time by talking to them about “NOTHING.” Why can’t NBC, one of the Worst Broadcasters on Television, hire people that are honest and credible? The reason they don’t is because their Chairman, Brian Roberts, is a pathetic Loser, who is petrified of the Left, and always will be. Comcast’s MSNBC and NBC have fought me for years, spending almost all of their waking hours making up Fake Stories — and look, I’m PRESIDENT, with really high Poll Numbers and Great Accomplishments. Good job Brian!

No. Trump will not be eligible to run for Vice President. We all know the 22nd Amendment says he can’t run for President a third time. The 12th Amendment says this:

But no person constitutionally ineligible to the office of President shall be eligible to that of Vice-President of the United States.

Remember, the Vice President was originally just the 2nd place finisher in the Presidential elections, so there wasn’t a need to specify eligibility requirements for VP. When the 12th Amendment changed that to have VP as a separately elected office, the framers of the amendment recognized they needed to extend the qualifications for President to Vice President, so they did. It’s actually the final sentence of the 12th Amendment. The 22nd Amendment didn’t change that, so in order to run for Vice President, you have to meet all the qualifications required to run for President, and that includes that you can’t have previously served as President for two terms.
