I have to say, the Trump message has gone from “I’m going to bring down the cost of living” to “get ready to feel the pain” pretty fucking quickly. Paul Krugman makes the point that if they’re saying this, while the economy is still doing well, they must be planning to have the shit really hit the fan… and for nothing. None of the economic pain they’re causing will have any positive long-term impact on the US economy.
