At the front-line combat level, each soldier will fill out a daily report on cartridges expended, grenades used, enemy casualties, meters of territory gained, and so on. This information will be complied at the battalion level, and the more productive units will be allocated more ammunition, medical supplies, food, etc.
It’s felt that this approach will encourage a healthy spirit of competition among battalions, increasing shareholder value while protecting the profits of arms suppliers.
They did both. Feeding several thousand people away from home is actually really hard. Something every army did until very recently was “foraging”, which is a nice word for armed men stealing all the grain reserves local villagers depended on and generally butchering and raping and torturing them while they’re at it. I think it was actually much worse than the actual battles if you’re woke enough to count peasants as people.
What I found funny this morning is the “Trump third term” noise seems to have died down after the “Obama 2028” meme started trending. Despite Trump’s idea being against the Constitution (the ‘hole’ in the 22nd he thinks he can abuse is blocked by the 12th), there’s no logic reason that MAGA smooth brains can find that mean Obama couldn’t do the same thing.
And heck, imagine that campaign trail? Trump, barely functional except for his core hatred mumbling while he rolls on his Presidential Rascal while Obama breaks out his usual oratory masterclass.
Can the lawfirm just do crappy work, saying it’s being done under duress? Legally he can’t force them, but they’re giving in because he’s holding them by the business short and curlies.
