The goddamn Trump Administration

One of Richard Dawson’s serious roles.

Well, he’s going to need a lot of credit notes at a lot of lawyers, one day (if he lives that long) and he never pays them anyway…

But this is pure extortion - as good as any gangster could commit.

I doubt Obama would stand, unless with a VP he’d stand down in favour of - but he has too much integrity to do that.

Obama can still troll Dump and make him think otherwise, and continue to live rent-free in Dump’s orange brain.

I think he should publicly float the idea of running again; a video in which he wears a tan suit.

Trump just announced minimum 10% tarrifs on virtually all imports in an extra unhinged speech. This is going to go great.

ETA: 25% tarrifs on all foreign-made automobiles effective midnight.

I just listened to a little of that. He sounds so much like he is suffering from dementia: meandering sentences, fumbling over words, incomplete and incoherent thoughts. I’m surprised his handlers are still allowing him to speak publicly. It’s a bad, bad…thing. Really bad. Like no one’s seen before.

If you keep Trump from speaking in public then the next time he inevitably does, the incoherence will be that much more obvious. This helps his pathetic sycophants normalize it.

How is this any different than usual? :man_shrugging:

As an aside, the market futures are already tanking, especially NASDAQ:

Usually, I intentionally avoid listening to him speak. So there might be a bit of what @chenille mentioned above happening for me.

“Old fashioned word”?!? Dafuq?

He probably brought it back so hard that we’ve been using it all along, just like when he invented the expression “prime the pump”.

It definitely has Lucille Bluth vibes. And Arrested Development was supposed to be satire.

“An old fashioned term that we use – groceries. I used it on the campaign. It’s such an old fashioned term, but a beautiful term. Groceries. It says a bag with different things in it.”

This is Trump in his “I didn’t know this before” mode, where he assumes no one else knew it either. Specifically, it’s a word he’s vaguely aware of, (probably from movies, tv, etc.) but never had to use it before himself. Neither he nor anyone in his social circle has ever been to a grocery store, has ever purchased groceries, etc. They have food provided for them, and the process by which it came to their tables is arcane knowledge that doesn’t concern them. Trump being Trump, he can’t conceive that “groceries” are a regular part of almost everyone’s lives, and assumes it must be a half-forgotten technical term as far as everyone else is concerned, too.

Mrs. Ficus sent me a video of this as she was watching it live. It was very WTF.

There is a 58% tariff on Norfolk Island. Norfolk Island’s primary export is the seeds and seedlings of the Norfolk Pine, and to a lesser extent wood pulp of the same. Its total export to the US is less than $700k pa. Norfolk Island has a population of a bit over 2000 people, and is a territory of Australia.

Is Trump trying to break the Norfolk Pine monopoly?
