No. The US Marshals report to the federal judiciary. Their funding is through the DOJ but they report strictly to the judiciary. It’s really the only thing that makes them distinct from the FBI. Otherwise, they’d be redundant.

That’s just not true. The US Marshal Service has a Director, and he reports directly to the Attorney General of the United States, who has the statutory authority to direct the actions of the Marshal Service. Their jurisdiction is the federal judiciary, but they do not report to the judiciary.
