Elon: We need to eliminate government waste.

Advisor: We could end tax breaks for billionaires.

Elon: What about this guy here?

Advisor: That’s Greg. He has to push a button every ten minutes or our nuclear warheads will detonate, killing us all. We pay him $7.25 an hour.

Elon: Fire Greg.

There’s no contradiction or problem for his supporters.

He said they would be legal when the came back.

Not sure why they had to leave, he could have made them legal before he kicked them out.

“So a farmer will come in with a letter concerning certain people, saying they’re great, they’re working hard. We’re going to slow it down a little bit for them, and then we’re going to ultimately bring them back. They’ll go out. They’re going to come back as legal workers,”

Cuz the cruelty is the point, as we know. Performative cruelty gets the Trampkin retribution juices flowing. Yum yum, beating up brown people, and owning the libs too! They’ll never let facts and logic shut down those bitterly joyous feelings.

With T****’s tariffs, the farmer won’t need them. The farmer’s collecting unemployment.

Don’t need to harvest what you can’t sell.

Um, It Turns Out No One at the Ports Is Collecting Trump’s Tariffs

Will importers (particularly those without third party resellers) go ahead and up their prices despite the trumpies being too incompetent to actually implement all their tariff testosterone poisoning?

although… it appears that Apple’s substantial “campaign donations” have just paid off…

Trump Administration Exempts Phones, Computers, Chips From Tariff’s

Smartphones and computers will be exempt from President Donald Trump’s tariffs, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, announced in an updated guidance on Friday.

The updated guidance comes after companies such as Apple were greatly threatened by Trump’s 125% tariffs on products, including iPhones coming into the U.S from China.

Other electronic devices like solid-state drives used for computer storage and the components to make certain electronic products like semiconductors and unmounted chips were also excluded from the tariffs …

Yes. Even the ones that aren’t overly greedy. It’s the prudent thing to do because at one point the agency in charge will figure out how to collect those tariffs and demand them being paid up. And the importers will be lucky if they can pay those arrears without interest.

No idea. But I do have a dress I ordered on its way to me from China. It’ll be interesting to see what happens.

I admit I order from Alibaba. Same stuff as on Amazon priced as what would be cost in the USA, of it, but slower shipping. I’ve gotten only one damaged item, but for what I paid for it, it wasn’t worth even reviewing, much less returning. In fact, I found a Chinese line of cosmetics that works better for me than most of the US makeup lines that I can afford.

And now it appears that phones and electronics are exempt from the tariffs…hmmmm…

I went and read the article, hoping that “She’s earned the right to put her thumb on the scale” doesn’t mean what it sounds like. Nope, it means exactly what it sounds like.

Yet Harris needs to determine whether she wants to run for president again in three years before deciding whether she wants to run for governor next year. Her keeping the national option open provided a not-so-subtle subtext for her speech last week: It came as possible 2028 Democratic primary rivals—including New Jersey senator Cory Booker, Illinois governor JB Pritzker, Connecticut senator Chris Murphy, New York congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and even former Harris running mate Tim Walz, the governor of Minnesota—have been aggressively promoting themselves. They are in the middle of the conversation that has been raging for the past few months, about how the Democratic Party can and should remake itself—a discussion from which Harris has been largely absent.

“I think she deserves to be part of that conversation. She’s earned the right to put her thumb on the scale of what’s next here,” a Harris insider says.

The Democratic Party has got to STOP with this nonsense that certain people have somehow earned the right to be next in line without having to earn it through an actual contested election. This is exactly how we ended up here.
