The goddamn Trump Administration

I’m sure that he’ll find a way to include puberty blockers.

Asked by ABC News if he would commit to following the science revealed by the studies, regardless of his current expectations on what’s causing the rise in diagnosis, the secretary said yes.
“We’re going to follow the science no matter what it says,” he said.

Yup. He will follow the science. As long as he gets to decide where it goes. Because otherwise, you know, the science is already there you fucking asshole you! He has firmly rejected the conclusions of experts in the field in favor of his own “understanding” and is bringing in fellow nutcase travelers who will “confirm” his already-set-in-stone conclusions and devastate healthcare for at least a generation. If I sound desperate, well, I am.

David Geier, the man RFK put in charge of this “investigation”, was found guilty of unlicensed practice of medicine in 2011 by performing a “treatment” along with his father (whose medical license was suspended at the same time) which consisted of giving Lupron to children to treat autism.

Lupron is a puberty blocker.

I gave a little more thought to this possibility. Given that autistic folks do, actually, seem to have a higher incidence of trans identification (IMHO, this is probably due to them having less interest in “fitting in” with social norms, but…) if you structure a study “correctly,” it would be pretty easy to “prove” that puberty blockers or other trans treatments are associated with / therefore cause autism. Of course, that fact is that no one is giving any of those treatments to 18–24-month-old kids, which is typically when the diagnosis is first suspected, at least. But facts never limit the ability of these assholes to demonize things they don’t approve of or understand.

WTF? Seriously? Ultrasounds are absolutely necessary for ensuring the well being of fetuses, no? Like, you can catch a lot of problems with them, that you can’t catch other wise (or only with MORE invasive procedures, later in pregnancy?)?

 Shh, shh…we can’t have anything stand in the way of blaming the vessel mother if something is determined to be less than perfect while producing a man’s property offspring, right? This isn’t about making things easier for women or children, 'cause in this regime’s playbook they are supposed to suffer.

As usual, this will devastate Red states far more than Blue. It is just crazy to me that his admin is essentially targeting his own voters for damage. Of course, it will hurt minorities as well, so I guess the MAGAts will accept it as “the cost of the war.”

“World War Fee: Just make it 420.69 and be done with it”

I think this administration would prefer the number 1488 be worked in somehow.

Re Shein and Temu; not a bad thing, really.

Well, if it’s true that Elno, who “knows a lot about those voting machines,” is going to “fix” future elections, then Tramp has no reason to care at all anymore about his own voters. I mean, if fascists in power can rig elections, why wouldn’t they?

Lots of news about the ever-increasing punishments that Trump is directing at Harvard in the last day or so, with the latest being that he’s working on revoking their tax-exempt status and even blocking their ability to enroll international students, which is about 27% of total enrollment. If Trump somehow legally got away with this it would seriously hurt the school, no matter how huge their endowment is.

It’s long past time for other lawmakers, be they liberal or conservative, to stand up for the academic freedom of the country’s oldest university. Heck, a lot of them should probably feel a sense of loyalty towards the institution simply because they’re alumni. Something like 10% of congress members as well as 4 of the current Supreme Court Justices went there. It would suck if having a personal connection was the main reason that they defended the place but at this point I’ll accept any reason for them to finally stand up.

A little while ago I heard someone make the point that, despite all their problems, America’s elite universities have long been the envy of the world, to the point where our longstanding geopolitical enemies still sent their own kids here to get an education. Just one more thing that Trump is intent on destroying.
