My wife, who is pretty conservative by nature due to her upbringing, cannot get her head around other religions existing and, potentially, having a valid world view. Even more amusing considering her particular brand of Catholicism isn’t the “main” one, as it were, being based in very rural Mexico with a whole bunch of local beliefs on top of the normal things. She completely misses the dichotomy by just ignoring it. Occasionally she will talk about how they just don’t know “how things should be”.
Indoctrination is real.

Amazing that America is getting rich on tariffs when it was announced yesterday that Trump forgot to appoint anyone to actually collect them.
It’s insane that the GOP is letting this person continue to run the country. Their lofty positions rely on a stable base of anger and outrage and he’s going to knock over their entire game.

If those are my only choices, I guess I’ve just been confirmed as being on the side of the terrorists. Given I’ve never been sure if I was ever released from being “against us” after W made a similarly idiotic declaration I guess it hasn’t really changed anything for me.
I do sometimes wonder if these fuckheads from central casting have these statements preinstalled. They rarely change the script they’re using, at least.

I attended a First Nations Reconciliation workshop mandated by my employer (Toronto Public Library). The First Nations facilitator was astonishingly kind and non-judgemental. At one point, she was talking about religion, and origin stories, and one woman piped up and asked “What about Adam and Eve?”, and simply could not understand that there are cultures who don’t have Adam and Eve as part of their origin stories.

i was curious about this (mechanisms of newly established insane-o-tariffs), asked in various ‘economic’ venues, rarely replied to, but was occasionally referred to “TATA” (…yep) Office of Tariff Affairs & Trade Agreements. They supposedly had the tradition of sending out “treasury agents” (?) to import ports to watch things and issue what are essentially bills to importers. but wait! TATA is all but extinct because its oversight was congress and we all know where that kind of governance has gone. So… trump wants a new agency, which he calls [kazoo fanfare] the office of “External Revenue” …so far nothing has been done about this.
Therefore as far as i’ve been able to tell (which should always be regarded as generally pathetic) there have been no actual, or at least official, new tariffs collected …yep. (So the “Phase 2: ?” is pretty damn accurate) @#$!
