The goddamn Trump Administration

Off- topic:
Something about NBC’s website worries me. Every single NBC link I have clicked on in the last week or so has crashed my browser.

So why did Duffy weigh in? There are a couple of plausible explanations. The first is political. Perry performed at President Biden’s inauguration and later campaigned alongside Kamala Harris. Therefore, this could simply be a Trump-appointed official taking a shot at a celebrity aligned with Democrats. It might also be an offshoot of the Elon Musk and Bezos rivalry. It is not too difficult to imagine the SpaceX people in Duffy’s orbit pointing out the murky waters around the definition of an astronaut.

Everything is petty and small-minded with these guys. Every. Damned. Thing.

Well two things. One, she wasn’t born into poverty. And she took over her family’s ranch, which includes a hunting lodge and a restaurant, when she was in her early 20s. She’s not Elon Musk rich, but she’s got money. Two, she’s been in the House of Representatives, the SD Governor’s mansion, and now the White House since 2011. So of course she’s had lobbyist money thrown at her, which Kinzinger knows well because it got thrown at him, too. I’m not saying this is ok, I’m just saying it’s not necessarily a sign of some unusual corruption that’s not normal for American politics (ugh).

That being said . . . you know damn well if this had happened to Mayorkas while he was head of Homeland Security, Republicans would have been calling for hearings, independent counsel, and prosecutions to get to the bottom of why he had $3,000 in cash on him and how it got “stolen”.

This is what is really frustrating. I either get to be so damned glad Katy Perry lives a dream or I get to join in the utter hate and misogyny that is carpeting the Internet with hate for her.

I hate it all.

It’s all bad.

EXactly. And her badge is in it! I thought one had to wear it on one’s person?

And your avatar is familiar; are you related to Clippy? :upside_down_face:

So, you want to write a letter? :stuck_out_tongue:

Nah, the paperclip as a symbol:

The first mass outbreak of civil disobedience occurred in the autumn of 1940, when students of Oslo University began to wear paper clips on their lapels to demonstrate their resistance to the German occupiers and their Norwegian collaborators. A seemingly innocuous item, the paper clip was a symbol of solidarity and unity (“we are bound together”), implying resistance and similar symbols (red garments, Bobble hats) were outlawed and could lead to arrest and punishment.

It was being used to show signs of support for Ukraine, but never really caught on.

Never, never, never thought I would agree with Sarah Hukabee Sanders.

TLDR: The Leopards are eating faces in Arkansas.
