And the onrush of European artists of all stripes fleeing from the Nazis to the US is partially what made the Golden Age of Hollywood! Not just actors and directors and writers, but cinematographers, set designers, lighting directors, makeup artists, wardrobe designers, et al!

i’ve really no clue about whether TikTok is a unique national security risk or not, (more than Xitter? more than Meta selling all their collected data?), but here’s a mental short-circuit i’ll cop to; if trump wants it back:
