My only hope is for those who are suffering and hoped a Trump presidency would improve their situation in some way can look at all this bullshit and ask themselves, “how does this help me?” Because if they did this, they would quickly realize it doesn’t.

Oh yes, Trump is famously all about protecting women’s dignity.
My passport card application, with an X gender marker, was signed and sent on Tuesday and arrived at the State Department’s processing center on Friday. I paid extra to have it expedited even though I don’t plan to travel anywhere. It could still take two weeks before they begin processing it though.

I have been thinking on what the hell happened, how did we get here, and yesterday this came across my feed and suddenly it clicked.
This is what the MAGAts think they have. Not the oligarchs, they know exactly what they’ve got. The mass of MAGA. “He hates who I hate. He will hurt who i fear. Economics, wars, policy, don’t understand any of that, but i understand hate and fear.” We can’t reach them with facts, and trying to give them positions that make them comfortable alienates our own base. I know most of you came to this earlier, but it really hit me. They are lost. I don’t think the Dem leadership has realized this, and will conclude that Biden pushed too far left, we can’t have women or PoC leaders, we need to be MAGA-lite. It seems the only redemption will be for the whole damned thing to fall apart. God, this is going to be grim.
