After Trump dismissed the inspectors general of five cabinet departments at the end of his first presidential term, Congress passed a law in 2022 that increased the removal protections for the post, including requiring a notification as to the “substantive rationale, including detailed and case-specific reasons” for the removal action.
So if Congress doesn’t file articles of impeachment over this, aren’t they effectively saying that Congress has no checks against Presidential authority?

Senator Gary Peters of Michigan
Senator Jeanne Shaheen of New Hampshire

Now that you mention it, I’ve always assumed that Trump wears the MAGAt cap when he’s having a bad hair day, but what if the real purpose is to add another inch or two whenever he has to be standing next to a 6’+ person?
I doubt there would be any question that this is an “official act” and according to USSC now, that is not subject to things like laws and such. Fucking a-holes…
When asked about Fauci and former national security adviser John Bolton, Trump said, “They all made a lot of money. They can hire their own security, too.”
So says the guy who whined about insufficient taxpayer funded security at his various campaign rallies.
I no longer feel schadenfreude with MAGAts realizing, belatedly, how Trump is going to screw them, this time around. I’m just angry and frustrated that they’re only now realizing it, when they absolutely should have known these incredibly obvious things before. I can’t even (entirely) be angry at them, even - that they live in media environments that allowed them to be that ignorant about such fundamental aspects of Trump’s policies makes me completely apoplectic.
