In the end, three GOP Senators voted against confirmation: Collins, Murkowski, and Mitch fucking McConnell. This shows that McConnell no longer has any influence at all in the Republican Party. There was a time when at least half the GOP Senate delegation would follow McConnell’s lead no matter what. I wish Nancy Pelosi had lost similar influence when she stepped down from her leadership position, but she still seems to be able to direct House Democrats to do what she wants. Anywho, the 3 Republicans voting no meant that the vote was split 50/50, so JD Vance got to break the tie, and he seemed positively giddy about the opportunity to do it.
Tl;dw: if they cannot be deported within 24 hours, they are guilty of criminal tresspass with a sentence of life in prison without possibility of parole. At that point, they enter the prison labor program, and can be rented out for pennies a day. Straight up enslavement. It’s not 1950 they are aiming for, it’s 1850.
