The Nazification of America

Great idea guys!

Totally say “What up my Nazi?” to each other, all the time.

What is a hard “i?”

Hit Nazis hard something, something in the eye?

Maybe he pronounced it /nʌts.ai/ “nats-eye” instead of /'nʌ.tsi/?

@ChuckV @Catsidhe

He called it a hard “i,” so it must be a manly “i.”

How does one pronounce an “i” that works out in a gym?

/ʔɨh/

This varied both over time and from region to region, down to the individual level.

The Stackexchange thing is mostly bollocks because apparently nobody
– read the original sources completely
– checked translations for accuracy, especially in context
– differentiates between formal/official use and colloquial/slang use
– takes into account that words change their meaning over time
– looks at context of use
– is aware of ambiguities1)

At the end of the day “Nazi” was and is basically shorthand.2)
A clumsy and somewhat incorrect abbreviation, but short and easy to use. Rolls right off the tongue and can be combined with any other words by the simple use of a hyphen.
And for all practical purposes, that’s about it.

It never was something official as such, but nevertheless used by some members of the NSDAP themselves while others insisted on using the proper designations for whatever.3)
The proverbial “man in the street” just used “Nazi”.4)

When in doubt, just use “fascist” - you can’t go wrong with that.

1) “Diminutive” is a neutral term. One of the sources for 19th century use explicitly states “Kosewort” which is a type of diminutive - but as a term of endearment. And this neatly cancels out half of the Substack thing already.*

2) Primarily for “Nationalsozialismus” (both the ideology itself and its followers), but also for “Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei” and everything related to it.

3) There probably is an argument to be made that there was a line between the Nazi proletariat and the Nazi bourgeoisie/social climbers.

4) Sources: Mostly family history in the oral tradition. Some from school, but that’s to be expected when your history teacher also teaches German.

* I would go as far as to posit that after cica 1920 there are two separate words altogether, and maybe one day I can be asked to make a proper argument for it.

It’s a “joke” about using the hard r at the end of the n-word instead of an a sound as you’ll hear in like a rap song.

There’s nothing like that droll Nazi humor.

It’s the Matt Bors comic, but even more ridiculous, somehow:

OMG, this is how they will end the poors attending college! Cap student loans and make it so financial need is equivalent to racial preference. Wow, I am not shocked, but I have to say I did not foresee this particular assholery!

What in the actual fuck?!?

Yep. the actual goal of all this gutting. They need those poors to do all the manual labor, rather than thinking above their station.

An attorney friend mentioned that the SCOTUS denied cert in a similar case. Though they may just be looking for a better case to overturn.

U.S. Supreme Court Denies Certiorari in Race-Neutral Admissions Policy Case | Poyner Spruill LLP - JDSupra.

If I were a government official I wouldn’t have any communications indicating that a planned program was using any factors as proxies for race or ethnicity.

But plans that address income only or other non racial factors and in no way were considered as addressing race wouldn’t trigger a strict scrutiny level of review.

Haven’t they made the opposite argument in court a thousand times? That discriminating against people for their income isn’t racial discrimination!?!

That’s what struck me. They’ve fought for years to claim that there’s no such thing as racially driven wealth inequality, and now they’re using the very thing to double down. The pretzel logic is unreal.

Exactly. This filing contradicts thousands of previous filings that have stated “everyone’s equal now, stop asking for handouts!” This is the opposite - “Stop giving the poors financial help, they’re all non-White people!”

They have. They’re lying liars and POS…

Hypocrisy is a feature not a bug with these motherfuckers. Whatever they said yesterday/this morning/at the beginning of this paragraph DOES NOT MATTER. We have always been at war with East Asia.
