About half of my team lives in Germany and they have very carefully been asking about the situation here in the states. Carefully, mainly because you never know who has what view and might go off on it.

Yeah, they’re being open enough about what they’re doing that they don’t need to send out secret codes… but this shit is exactly what MAGA Qanon conspiracy nuts accuse others of doing, and every accusation is a confession with these people. They think this is what shadowy government conspiracies do, so when they ARE the shadowy government conspiracy, they do it. I’d be liable to dismiss this as paranoid pattern seeking but it keeps happening, over and over, in everything related to Trump’s campaign and administration, to the point where I don’t think it’s reasonable to deny that it’s deliberate any longer.
Whether it’s important that Neo-Nazis are making their presence known in secret when everyone paying even the slightest attention can see that the entire right is openly fascist is a whole different question, of course.

I mean I get the suffering people that white americans are progressing out of existence are both hidden in the shade so we don’t have to look at them if we don’t want to and sexualised if we do. That makes sense, but why is the statue falling over? Is that AI slop on its book rather than words?

@Heikki and @Millie_Fink I know the protofascist art from the age of nationalism. It looks like someone trying to paint a Greek “style” statue coming to lifelessness and having it fall over (weight: how does that work?).
I don’t think it’s that fascist art is always bad, it’s that art fascists fetishise is always terrible. Lots of fantastic fascist artist out there, cant swing a cat in a gallery without hitting a painting by a terrible person so it stands to reason. The political project around fascism though does make embarrassingly bad art a virtue.

Ironically, the Nazis officially phased out Fraktur fonts in favour of the new “Antiqua” (in German usage, just meaning a Roman style serif font), and banned Fraktur altogether in 1941.
