I bet they weren’t even born in this country.
Texas, what a surprise.
More on the Public Charge policy-- it’s explicitly ableist:
Of course, in our country even the ‘good’ health insurance agrees with that. Neither the mouth nor the eyes count as parts of the body. (Until the infection from a tooth spreads throughout the body or something like that.)
Separate dental insurance usually covers dentures (to some degree) but it’s very limited so you might have to wait a year (and not get any other dental work done). If you want a better solution with implants, insurance thinks that’s worse and it may cost multiple life’s savings on top of what insurance pays.
But to so casually dismiss it for people who don’t even have the opportunity to get insurance or try to earn the money to pay for it is even more awful.
I think concentration camp is the correct word, both literally and historically. It’s horrific, mind-boggling, and completely understandable given what we know about the republican regime.
Speaking of words I hope in the future the word “republican” becomes a word which, if thrown as an insult, would have been worthy of a duel by pistols at dawn in the 17th century.
Yeah, right.
I am simply amazed by the childish way bigots in this day and age try to explain away their hateful acts. As I’ve said before, it’s like playing “Did you eat the chocolate?” with two-year-olds.
SOROS BUCK$!!!
It works in Hungary.
Well, that’s one of the more stupid evil things he’s said. All the gun slaughter survivors who are supposedly “paid actors” is quite bad enough.
Literally, the Nazification of America, from someone who knows what he’s talking about:

That is a depressing but very good essay. The parallels are frightening, and even the differences don’t really seem optimistic.
If the US has someone whom historians will look back on as the gravedigger of American democracy, it is Mitch McConnell.
I can’t think of anyone who is more anti-democracy than that bastard. He is equal to (Reagan + Gingrich + Hastert + Delay + Thurmond + Cheney)2.
sweet jeebus, that article is terrifying. basically, we’re completely fucked.
Yup.
It’s a bad sign when drawing parallels to 1850s America is more hopeful than the most plausible alternatives…
Wanting a free society isn’t “rabid,” but otherwise…
