I have a standing offer that I repost to facebook every now and again: If you don’t understand the biology of a news story, ask me (even privately!) and I will explain it. Never once has a Republican asked for help understanding.

Yeah.
I got beaten up in school starting when I was 6. Beaten unconscious at 16. Also had a lot of trouble with bathrooms due to medical issues. (Attackers were rumored to be neo-Nazis too.) It’s not like misogyny, homophobia, and transphobia don’t affect students. Even if we’re “too young to be gay” or “too young to be trans,” we’re not too young to be beaten up for it, while being taught to be ashamed of who we are.
And if they get away with this, what next?
Well, first, they can extend this to other civil rights protections.
And, second, they can take away our passports and other documentation. Because of the maze of inconsistent state policies, most of us rely on federal passports. And with that go voting rights, etc. And a lot of the routes of escape, for those who have the money and the ability to travel.

not a fucking surprise. I have always wondered how many people in the military will open fire on Americans if ordered by the Cheeto in charge. If those people are non-white and ‘non-Christian’, it’s almost a sure thing from what I can tell.
