The Nazification of America

Yes. Agree. I think he was trying to reframe the whole conversation in a way that this group could understand, but it was really problematic how he was reframing it.

Willamette Weekly, the kiss-ass of the two local weeklies, is on a tear to take down Hardesty and Eudaly, the two commissioners most willing to take on the police.

In this article they are setting up Hardesty, not the rich-boy Ted Wheeler (actual mayor/police commissioner), to take the fall for all of 2020’s turmoil, while completely icing out Eudaly, the commissioner who is not happy with the limited actions taken so far against our useless, dangerous cops.

There is ratfucking going on, even in Portland.

It’d be real interesting if the same thing happened as what happened when NYC cops tried the same thing - no change other than fewer arrests and tickets.

Unfortunately, this is in the context of riots because of police actions, which complicates things.

Which reinforces the idea that whites aren’t to blame or an active part of the whole thing, which is just another way of dismissing privilege

It’s not. At all. It’s another way of avoiding responsibility for our fellow humans.

Seems that way. At some point, people like him need to just shut up and listen, maybe?

It’s frustrating…

And… uh… under the influence of what drugs does BLM have anything to do with the legalization of sex workers or forced reallocation of farmland?

(Not intending to imply those two issues are in any way equal, of course, but… WTF?)

This is why I’ve told both my family and my coworkers (yes we had a company meeting about it where we were each encouraged to speak), it’s not my place to talk about this, but I will happily pass along links to what POC have to say about it, because they have a lot to say and their voices really deserve to be heard.

I did my best to pass on that #LetThemSpeak message. I don’t think that everybody got it or understood it. People feel like it’s the right thing to do to let everyone speak and address how it affects them - put their own spin on things. But I disagree. Some of us should just shut up and listen. People don’t understand that, or don’t like it.

Precisely… it’s frustrating.

Trump Campaign went literal Nazi today.

As armed white supremacists threaten, accost, and assualt marchers, as cops erect cinder block walls on city streets and around structures, as judges and prosecutors let killer cops skate free, I cannot help but feel like the year is 1934.

earlier today, it was revealed that NYPD cops have their own version of 4chan. None of this shit is accidental or can be blamed on a single bad actor. The entire orchard is rotten.

we’re doing breadlines, too, apparently.

in kentucky, the unemployment line is literal and eight hours long. as the shell game economy - based on massive consumer debt and underpaid workers -
grinds to a halt this will be a familiar sight.

38 million American adults are now unemployed. with the pandemic spreading, a complete economic collapse is inevitable. with Mitch McConnell stonewalling relief, one can only surmise:

The cruelty is the point.

I guess the mini-revolt within FaceBook helped somewhat.

I had a person tell me, in 2016, I was hysterical when I called trump a literal nazi, and I had no idea what I was even talking about. I kind of want to rub their nose in this, but nothing good would come of that.

I say go for it. They’ll just tell you Facebook is part of the Deep State.

…before Sunday’s scheduled racing at Talladega, a small plane flew over the track trailing a Confederate flag and a banner that read “Defund Nascar”.

I saw an article about that ad either this morning or yesterday, but it didn’t go into any details of what was actually in the ad.

Now that I’ve seen a portion of it… holy fuck. That’s one hell of an oversight by pretty much the entire advertising chain. It would have been nice if the religious group’s money could have gone directly to a donation to other groups, rather than being given back to them.
